House of Illustration, Kings Cross

A recent visit to The House of Illustration revealed a flying staircase. The building is in Granary Square behind Kings Cross and was originally designed by Lewis Cubitt (who also designed Kings Cross Station) in 1850.

It’s a shame that this clunky beam has been put in at some stage. The upper flight also has a flying flight without the extra beam.
